The Process

SHIBORI PAINTINGS

A Closer Look

My Shibori paintings begin with fluid acrylic on Dura-Lar, a translucent surface that allows the paint to move, pool and interact in ways I can influence but never completely control.

I pour, tilt, layer and respond-letting the materials guide me while I make intuitive decisions about color, balance and form.

There's a rhythm to the process: adding a layer, stepping back, looking, and deciding what the painting needs next.

The result is a dialogue between intention and surprise, where unexpected moments often lead to the most interesting places.

THE PROCESS

I'm drawn to the process because it's alive -

a conversation between what I do and what the materials do.
